A couple of weeks ago we got our first chance to take a vacation since our honeymoon and it was pretty stinkin' fantastic. We flew out to Arizona to visit Marian and Christina (Sam's brother and his wife/my last roommate) and scope out Phoenix for a good apartment locale. Forgive me for talking about the weather (it is so often on my mind these days) but we left Columbus at 4:30 am in 6 degrees and that many inches of snow and arrived in Phoenix in [sigh] 70 degrees and dazzling sunshine. We decided that moment that we would never return to Ohio, but then we remembered we had jobs and friends and various responsibilties awaiting us, so we'd better go back. Darn it. But our time there was amazing- we got to thaw and explore and relax, none of which we had done in a year and a half!
Marian and Christina live in Lake Havasu City, which is like the Myrtle Beach of the desert. It actually rained our first day there, which they said never happens, so we were pretty bummed that we'd brought Ohio's gray clouds with us. But the next few days were so bright and warm we felt like we were on another planet.
I started this post at the worst time, not realizing I have to leave in two minutes. So I guess I'll share the rest of the story later. Peace!
